CD-13 BUDGET TOWN HALL WITH HUGO SOTO-MARTINEZ HOSTED BY DSA-LA

This week the Mayor released a budget proposal for the next fiscal year—outlining how public dollars will be spent across housing, public safety, city services, infrastructure, and more. The decisions made now could reshape vital public programs that millions of Angelenos rely on every day.

To meet this moment, DSA-LA is bringing together neighbors in Council District 13 for a town hall to break down what’s in the budget, what’s at stake, and how we can organize to protect and strengthen the services our communities depend on.

This event is co-hosted by DSA-LA and Councilmember Hugo Soto-Martinez, DSA-endorsed representative for CD-13. The town hall will feature a presentation from Hugo about the city’s budget process, the current financial landscape, and what leadership looks like in this critical moment. We’ll also have a Q&A session to deepen the conversation.

Residents will have the opportunity to share which public investments matter most to them, and DSA-LA will present our vision for protecting essential services and building toward a more just, equitable Los Angeles.

We’ll also offer concrete ways to stay involved—because defending our communities and building the future we deserve doesn’t end with one meeting.

Mark your calendar for April 28—we look forward to seeing you there!
